Dancing the Dragon Yoga Retreat
It's Yoga, but not as you know it. Liberate your life force, activate your energy, dance with Kundalinī-Shakti.
Welcome to the Dancing the Dragon Retreat — a no-bullshit yoga immersion that ignites your life force, liberates your energy, and teaches you how to burn up your shit (beliefs, patterns & trauma) in the fire & joy of practice.
Over four days and three nights, Kara-Leah, with support from Gaia, will lead you in the intentional co-creation of an alchemising field of movement, mantra, breath, prayer and ceremony.
Practices include meditation, asana, pranayama, chanting, visualisation, yoga trance dance, and embodied inquiry.
This is yoga, but not as you know it.
Our practices focus on attuning to, activating, and channelling Kundalini-Śakti so you can burn through old emotions, patterns, and beliefs, revealing the magnificence of your essence nature.
Grounded in the non-dual Tantrik tradition of Trika Shaivism, Dancing the Dragon offers a direct, embodied experience of the union of Awareness (Śiva) & Energy (Śakti)—the fundamental pulsation (spanda) of existence.
Held on the shores of Kootenay Lake in the stillness of the forest, The Sentinel offers the perfect container for transformation. Between sessions, savour nourishing meals, rest in comfortable beds, and soak in the cedar hot tub, wood-fired sauna, or copper cold plunge.
We have exclusive use of the property, creating a sanctuary for liberation and renewal—sending you home with embodied practices to support the ongoing process of liberation in your daily life.

Dancing the Dragon is an embodied approach to yoga practice, anchored in the View Teachings of Tantrik Yoga (Non-Dual Tantrik Shaivism, or Trika Shaivism). Rather than being a single set practice, it offers a way of engaging yoga that weaves together prayer, invocation, asana, dance, shaking, meditation, chanting, and pranayama. The name Dancing the Dragon DOES NOT refer to an ecstatic dance practice. The “dance” refers to the way we interact with Kundalinī-Śakti as it moves through us—the inner dance of Awareness (Śiva) and Energy (Śakti), not necessarily external dancing of the body. It's VERY beginner-friendly! The beauty of Dancing the Dragon lies in how it meets each participant exactly where they are, allowing for whatever modifications or variations are needed. Rather than fixed movements or poses, it invites you to attune to the flow of energy within and allow yourself to be moved.
No. Kara-Leah focuses on applying the teachings of Tantra to our modern lives to reduce suffering. It's about learning the practice and making it work for you. Anyone can benefit from the teachings & practices, whether or not they follow Tantra. If you are a Tantrik Practitioner, you will receive many valuable teachings and practices that deepen your study and application of Tantra. Oh, bless! That's Neo-Tantra. Traditional Tantra is focused on embodied liberation & awakening. We will learn some practices related to working with sexual energy that are internal and have nothing to do with sexual expression.
Nope - that's Neo-Tantra. Traditional Tantra is focused on embodied liberation & awakening. We will learn some practices related to working with sexual energy that are internal and have nothing to do with sexual expression.

The Sentinel sits just outside Kaslo, BC, and is easily reached by car. From Nelson, it’s about a one-hour scenic drive along Kootenay Lake. From Vancouver or Squamish, plan for a 9–10 hour drive, or fly into Castlegar (2 hours from Kaslo) or Kelowna (5 hours). Airport transfers can be arranged from these or other major airports. Driving from Calgary takes about 7.5 hours, either south through Fernie or west through Revelstoke. After you pay your deposit, you'll be sent a link to the Google Registration Form. If you would like to carpool, you can let me know in that form, and I will connect any participants from the same area to arrange carpooling amongst themselves.
